Abul Bashar Rahman

Abul Bashar Rahman is a climate activist, economist, and storyteller dedicated to bridging the gap between policy, community engagement, and environmental action. Born and raised in Bangladesh, he has a deep-rooted passion for amplifying climate resilience through innovative storytelling and strategic advocacy.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of International Economics at The University of British Columbia (UBC) as a Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Scholar, Bashar has represented youth voices at UN Climate Change Conferences (COP27 & COP28) and worked on international sustainability initiatives. His work spans across climate communications, renewable energy strategy, and grassroots mobilization—most notably leading “Stories of Change”, a transformative documentary and climate action map showcasing community resilience across Bangladesh.
As a member of the GreenPAC & Environmental Leadership Canada (ELC) Youth Advisory Council, Bashar advises on youth engagement strategies, environmental advocacy, and political mobilization. His role supports the mission of embedding sustainability leadership within Canada’s political landscape, ensuring that young changemakers have the tools and platform to influence systemic change.
With experience spanning research, digital strategy, and social impact, Bashar continues to explore innovative ways to tell compelling climate stories, drive meaningful dialogues, and push for policy-driven environmental action on a global scale.
